Sheepshead and Inshore Species

Head offshore for Sheepshead Spawning Season. We start the day offshore at the rigs for loads of Sheepshead then head inshore for redfish. Spawning Season runs in February, March and April.

Capt. Herman Demoll has been running these waters his whole life. He knows which rigs are producing and puts his groups right on top of the fish.

 

Trips depart at 6:00 AM from Venice Marina.

Target Species

  • Redfish — hard-fighting and abundant throughout the marsh
     

  • Speckled Trout — the inshore staple; strongest in the cooler months
     

  • Sheepshead — structure-oriented and underrated fighters
     

  • Tripletail — an exciting visual target when conditions are right
    ​

  • Additional reef, bottom structures and rigs species may be encountered depending on conditions

Trip Details

  • Departure: 6:00 AM, Venice Marina
     

  • Duration: 6 to 8 hours
     

  • Maximum anglers: 5
     

  • Bookings require a $300 deposit for each day for each boat
     

  • One trip per day
     

  • Bait: Dead shrimp included. Live shrimp available for an additional charge — ask when booking.
     

  • All fishing gear and tackle provided
     

  • Fuel Included
     

  • Fish cleaning included — bring your own zip-lock bags for your fillets
     

  • Vacuum sealing and shipping available through Venice Marina
     

  • Fishing license: Guests are responsible for a valid Louisiana recreational fishing license
